What You'll Need
Ingredients
- 2 slices french bread
- 2 to 4 oz. double cream brie
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tsp fig spread
- 2 to 3 slices prosciutto
Equipment
- Butter knife
- Cast-iron frying pan or griddle
- Spatula
- Plate
Step 1: Butter the Bread
Heat your frying pan over medium heat while you butter one side of each piece of bread.
Step 2: Fry the Sandwich
Place one of the slices of bread butter side down in the frying pan. Layer the cheese on the bread in the pan. Spread the fig topping on the cheese. Place the proscuitto on top.
Put the other piece of bread on top with the butter side up. Allow your sandwich to cook for a few minutes until the cheese starts to melt.
Step 3: Cook and Flip
Once the underside is a golden brown color, use the spatula to flip the sandwich over and let it cook until the other side is golden brown. Cook longer if you prefer a crispier sandwich.
Step 4: Cut and Serve
Remove the sandwich from the pan with your spatula, set it on your cutting board or plate and slice in half. Plate and serve.
